Approach and look at speakers of other chapters of related organizations

Look through the brochure of other events you receive and reach out to them

Big name corporations (in our industry it's the Big 4 accounting firms), they are always happy to speak to get their name out; go for senior management when possible

Keep a spreadsheet of great speakers your chapter has had as an archive going forward; use great speakers over or recommend and get bulk discounts

Partner with other chapters or host virtual events to extend reach

Vendors, but be careful to set parameters

Mentor members to become speakers, give them maybe just a 1 hour slot; professional development is a key benefit of association membership

+HIRE ENGAGING SPEAKERS

Panel discussion using prominent and dynamic members,

facilitate Q&A with directed questions and audience Q&A

CEOs of county or government offices often will speak for

free (e.g. in our industry FBI will speak at chapter events on

cybercrime)

In your member surveys, ask what topic they want to hear

about followed by asking the best speaker they have heard

on that topic.

Book authors

Word of mouth, get the word out among your membership

that you are looking for great speakers

Look for ways to cut costs (free venues, online components

etc.) to push more budget towards the education.
