• Typically innovations in marketing• its the business model that creates
the impact• not necessarily about advanced
technology
• Difficult for the incumbent to adopt• conflicts existing business models• small market, low profits• redirects resources away from
sustaining activities[Christensen, Clayton 1997, 2003]
