Goals of Sports Lightinga solution that will:

4. Provide the lowest cost of ownership over an expected 30-40 year life cycle

• Spill Light– The light shining beyond the sports facility caused by

the uncontrolled direct light component from the lighting system.

• Obtrusive Light– Spill light that causes glare, annoyance, discomfort, or

loss of visual ability. Light Pollution.

• Glare– Intense and blinding light. Causes visual discomfort or

disability – Not a function of distance.

• Minimize spill, glare and obtrusive light by limiting outdoor lighting that is misdirected, excessive, or unnecessary

• How? Combination of fixture technology and lighting design
