How to set up a Flickr account

Setting up a Flickr Account

• First, go to http://flickr.com

• Click on Sign Up

• Sign in using your Yahoo account

• If you don’t have a Yahoo account, you’ll need to create one– Click on Sign Up to create a Yahoo account

• Fill in the blanks

• It is advisable to revise your marketing preferences to uncheck some or all of the boxes for special offers and marketing communications

• Be sure to click on Save Changes when you’re done

• Now that you have a Yahoo account, you can set up your Flickr account

• Pick a screen name to set up your new account

• Click to upload photos

• You can add one photo or a batch of photos and tag them– Note: if you choose to load a batch of photos,

you can change their tags again after they’re loaded

• When your photos are loaded, you can change the titles, add descriptions, and change or add tags

• You can view your photos as a slide show

• You can upload a photo to use as your buddy icon (to replace the grey smiley face)

Setting up a Flickr Account

• Your Flickr URL can be changed to a name (instead of the string of letters and numbers originally assigned to your page)

• Go into Your Account to change under “Your Flickr web addresses”

• To add more photos, click the down-arrow by You in the top bar

• Select Upload Photos

• Free accounts have a limit of 100MB per month
