I love You, I love You,I love You, Lord, today; because You cared for me

in such a special way.

That's why I praise You I lift You up,

My heart, my mind, my soul belongs to You.

You paid the price for me way back on Calvary.

Your name. That's why my heart is filled

with praise.

Give thanks with a grateful heart,

Give thanks to the Holy One,

Give thanks because he’s given

Jesus Christ his Son.

And now let the weak say,“I am strong”; let the poor

say,“I am rich because of what

the Lord has done for us.”

Give thanks!

Anthem “Joshua Fit

the Battle of Jericho”

Joshua fit the battle of Jericho

Jericho, JerichoJoshua fit the battle of

JerichoThe walls come tumblin'

down,

You may talk about your king of Gideon

You may talk about your men of Saul

But there're none like good old Joshua,

at the battle of Jericho

Joshua fit the battle of Jericho,

Jericho, JerichoJoshua fit the battle of

JerichoAnd the walls come tumblin'

down,

Then up to the walls of Gideon

They marched with spear in hand

Go blow those ram horns, Joshua cried,

'cause the battle is in my hands.

Joshua fit the battle of Jericho,

Jericho, JerichoJoshua fit the battle of

JerichoAnd the walls come tumblin'

down,

Then the lamb ram sheep horns began to blow

The trumpets began to sound

Old Joshua shouted glory and the walls came tumblin'

down

Joshua fit the battle of Jericho,

Jericho, JerichoJoshua fit the battle of

Jericho.The walls come tumblin'

down.

Scripture Reading

Joshua 1:1-7; 5:2-3,13-15; 6:1-5,15-19, 12; 24:11-15 Joshua Installed as Leader1 After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide:

2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.

5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life.

As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.7 “Be strong and very courageous.

Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you;do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.

Circumcision at Gilgal

2 At that time the LORD said to Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again.” 3 So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the Israelites at Gibeath Haaraloth.

The Fall of Jericho

13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”

14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”

15 The commander of the LORD'S army replied,“Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.”And Joshua did so.

1Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.2 Then the LORD said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands,

along with its king and its fighting men.

3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day,

march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”

15 On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. 16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast,

Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the LORD has given you the city! 17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent.

18 But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it.

19 All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the LORD and must go into his treasury.”

The Renewal of the Covenant

The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites, but I gave them into your hands.

12 I sent the hornet ahead of you, which drove them out before you—also the two Amorite kings. You did not do it with your own sword and bow. 13 So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards

and olive groves that you did not plant.’14 “Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.

15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Pastor: Holy are You, and blessed is Your

Son Jesus Christ. He blessed the poor and the

hungry and those who mourn, promising fulfillment in his

kingdom.By the baptism of his suffering,

death, and resurrection,You gave birth to your church,

delivered us from slavery to sin and death and made with us a new

covenant by water and the Spirit. And so, in remembrance of these Your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,we offer ourselves in praise and

thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s

offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ has died; Christ is risen, Christ is risen,

Christ will come again.Christ will come again.

Pastor: Pour out Your Holy Spirit on us,

gathered here, and on these gifts of bread and wine. Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by His

blood.

You put Your mighty power to work when you raised him from the dead and seated him at your

right hand.

Leader:On the night in which He gave

himself up for us, He took bread, gave thanks to You, broke the bread, gave

it to His disciples, and said, “Take, eat, this is my body which is

given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.“

When the supper was over He took the cup, gave thanks

to You, gave it to His disciples, and said, “Drink from this, all of you; this

is my blood of the new covenant poured out for you and for many for

the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.“

It is with great joy that we remember those who have gonebefore us and now dwell in Your

glorious kingdom. May we ever be united with them.

By Your Spirit make us one with Christ, one with each other, and one in

ministry to all the world, until Christ comes in final victory and we feast at

the heavenly banquet.

Through Your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in Your holy church, all

honor and glory is Yours, almighty God, now and forever.
