Oaxaca lays claim to one of Mexico’s richest

celebrations: Day of the Dead

(Día de los Muertos).

Day of the Dead is an annual celebration

that blends Catholic and indigenous traditions.

On November 1-2 spirits of the beloved dead return to visit with families and friends.

Visitors have no better proof that one has !made a journey than by taking a photo. !But when is taking a picture offensive !to others? If you want to do things right, ask permission. Put yourself in the shoes (or huaraches) of those you are visiting. Would you want strangers to take your photo without your consent? Do the right thing. Practice empathy.!
