The decision to become a mother for the working woman is not easy. The

workplace discrimination is a latent reality one which

many women face today.

The Federal Labor Act gives many rights to working mothers in Mexico. A rest for six weeks before birth and six weeks after receiving your salary full.

Women Pregnancy Rights at Workplaces in Mexico

● Work while pregnancy as long as possible perform your job safely.

● Employer can’t fire you, force you to receive lower pay or do you accept a permit only by the fact that you're pregnant.

● Employer must give you a secure job, with less pressure, if necessary to protect your health and that of your unborn child.

● During the pregnancy you can get permission to be away as long as they are justified with a disability, issued by the IMSS, so you do not discount the day of your salary.
