What is a Sherpa?

A sherpa is a member of a traditionally Buddhist people of Tibetan descent living on the southern side of the Himalaya Mountains. In modern times sherpas have achieved world renown as expert guides on mountaineering expeditions.

Sherpas were of immeasurable value to early explorers serving as guides and porters at the extreme altitudes of the peaks and passes in the region. They are known for their hardiness, expertise, and experience at high altitudes.

Today, the term is used casually to refer to almost any guide or porter hired to carry the workload and lead in unfamiliar or difficult conditions. CRE Sherpa provides the tools, knowledge, and expertise to be your guide in the world of social networking.
