DESCRIPTION

Too many people think it's cool to wing it when they have a work presentation. In a world where everyone's distracted, why would you risk this? Ensure you can walk out onto a stage with confidence by asking yourself the right questions before you even begin to write your presentation.

Speak & Be Heardor

(how to do the prep work beforehand & really nail your presentation)

In the beginning……there are questions.

Who are your audience?

What’s their age? Gender? Demographic? Psychographic? Education? What else do you need to know?

Your audience is made up of all types

What matters to them?

What gives you the right to stand before them?

What do they know about your topic? What don’t they know?

Expecting any hostility?

Ready for that, dude?

What will they ask?

Can you stand up to the questioning?

What time is your presentation? Will they be energised or tired?

What’s the big picture? Address the main theme of the event.

Who else is speaking?On what?

Can you link your message to theirs for increased effect?

and when you get there…

And when you finally get there……….

Do you have their attention?

Or are they a bit distracted?

Because you’re doing too much blah blah

You’re not talking at them, are you?

Or perhaps riffing & rambling?

You haven’t jammed too much on your slide

have you?

Because all of those mean an uphill battle.

Know your message.

Engage

Connect.

Influence.

Your work here is done.
