How it works and why we have it.

Election Day

• Citizens to not vote directly for the President.• Votes go towards electors for your sate.• To win a candidate needs half of the electoral

votes, 270 of 538.

What if no candidate gets a majority?

• The House of Representatives selects the President, with each state getting one vote.

• The Senate selects the Vice President

Reasons

• Elects Quality Leaders• Orients elections around the states• Makes majorities and amplify minorities
