• On July 31, 2012– Voters in three of the twelve regional planning
commission areas adoption a regional Transportation Sales and Use Tax
– Never done before in the history of Georgia– 16 counties banded together in the Columbus
region (River Valley) to adopt a ten year transportation budget worth over $594 million dollars
TSPLOST Update
• Individual Counties in each region were not allowed to opt out
• Projects were selected by the regional roundtable and presented to voters
• Regional Sales Tax Funds collected remain in this district– $5.6 million will be utilized by GDOT for project management
• 25% of the funds collected to be used for local “transportation purposes” and are discretionary funds

Project Description:Construction of three express bus Park-N-Ride locations in Columbus using existing sites.

• Health Linebeck has been selected and is developing preliminary drawings
•No other activities will begin until study is completed

Project Description:This project will provide permanent public access to the proposed property bounded by US 27 to the south, I-185 to the west, and Cusseta Road to the north and east, which is the western boundary of Fort Benning
Status:•Notice To Proceed – Requested But Not Received•Staff/GDOT have completed preliminary discussions with Fort Benning concerning access to the site and security•Consultant Services –
• Woverton & Associates have been selected and have begun preliminary design on project
•No other activities will begin until study is completed
