Liberation House

● In 2014, Urban Green partnered with Rebuilding Together San Francisco (RTSF) to renovate Liberation House, which provides temporary housing and social services, primarily to people recovering from drug addiction.

● The project began from a connection made between the electrician son of Liberation House’s executive director and members of RTSF, which offers free building repairs that benefit residents and organizations in need.

Leadership and Renovation

● Working together with RTSF, Urban Green staff members provided critical leadership that resulted in painting the interior of Liberation House.

● Moreover, volunteers and renovation professionals repaired outlets and switches, reconfigured the main bathroom, installed new mirrors, and replaced the back stairs’ rotted, hazardous treads.

Consequence

● Due to the added support from Urban Green, Liberation House can now provide even more material assistance to people seeking a safe and welcoming space in which to get their lives back on track.
