Google Drive: How to view and edit document in offline mode

It may not be possible to connect internet always specially when you are travelling or working. But you could edit or view your Google drive document offline. You editing will

reflect in Google drive document when your chrome browser will be connected to internet..

At first open Google Chrome Browser and then sign in Google

(https://drive.google.com) drive with your Gmail account

After successful Login click the “More” option on the left side bar. This will open the full list and

then click “Offline”

Click this “Get the app” button. This will download and

install the Drive web app in your

browsers.

Confirmation box will appear

and click the “Add” button

After successful installation open a new

tab and click the “Apps” button in

bookmark bar. Watch that Google drive app

in the app store.

Click the button “Enable Offline”

The app will start syncing data, so don’t close the browser before the whole task is completed. You could watch the progress in browser. Whenever you will create a new document in Google drive the app will sync the new doc to your computer also.

Here from the app list you will notice that except Google drive

other apps are grayed. It means that these grayed apps need internet

connection and can’t work offline mode.

Whenever you do something in a document in offline mode you will notice

this thunderbolt sign indicating that you are in offline mode. Your editing will be

reflected in Google drive document when browser will be connected to internet.
