The New Caledonia Digital Strategic Plan

• A plan decided by the Government of New Caledonia (GNC)

• 2009: a minister is in charge of digital issues

• 2011: a « Digital Team » is created to offer a digital strategy

• An institutional work with the partners of the GNC

• Provincial Houses of Representatives, Congress, Mayors, communication provider (OPT),

Chamber of Industry,…

• A « high level » legitimacy

• The Plan has been voted by the Congress of New Caledonia in October 2013

• Digital Council in September 2015

Remote medical consultation for isolated Island (Tiga, Loyalty Islands)

Digital classrooms with tablets and digital pictures

Every Congress and Government session with tablets to reduce paper and to increase digital use

Government discount to more than 10,000 students in order to buy PC, laptops or tablets.

More than 600 households with

3G and solar energy to provide Internet access.
