• 13.5 million people in UK living in poverty including 3.9 million children
• Up to £16.8 billion in benefits unclaimed
• £366 million per annum available in charitable grants
• If faced with a sudden loss in income– Only 40% of people asked would seek to claim
welfare benefits– Only 3% of people asked would seek help from a
charitable source (Turn2us & YouGov survey Jan 2010)
