STEPS TO WRITE AWAY STRESS

The Mental and Physical Path to Stress Free Writing

By Darin L. Hammond |www.ZipMinis.com

1. Find a relaxing, distraction free writing environment where you feel comfortable and safe. Choose the writing form you desire: by hand or at the computer.

2. Set a time limit for your writing stress free session.

3. Make yourself aware of your current mental state.

4. Sit with the anxiety, rather than try to run away.

6. Recognize that you have the ability to let the worries loose.

7. Close your eyes, and take three deep, slow breaths.

8. Notice the relaxation you feel as you exhale.

9. Eyes still closed, recognize a worry when it intrudes on your thinking, and just let it go.

10. Breathe for at least a minute or two, relaxing and letting worry go.

11. When you feel ready, open your eyes and begin to write what comes to your mind.

12. Let your mind wander through your thoughts, your worries floating away.

13. If a worry intrudes on your writing, draw an “x” across the last word, and start again, worry free.

14. Notice when you connect with an interesting idea, and go with it.

15. Allow your writing to change and explore different directions.

16. End each writing session by reflecting on the whole process, learning from the experience and your feelings.

17. Jot down notes on what you have learned about your feelings and writing. Note insights, ideas, and revelations that came to you.

18. Specifically write down ideas that you can later pursue in your blog.

19. End with a grateful, happy heart. Repeat the session daily as part of your writing routine.Warm up
