• Russian Society of Pediatric Nephrology was established in 1997.

• Prof. M.S. Ignatova has been the first President of the Russian Society of Pediatric Nephrology (1997 to 2012).

Pediatric nephrologists in Russia work actively all together by conducting a lot of meetings, conferences, workshops in different regions of Russia.

• To improve the standard of Pediatric Nephrology care in Russia.

• To promote the up-to date professional knowledge and share experience of pediatric nephrology among Russian pediatric nephrologists.

• To provide a means of liaison with workers in Pediatric Nephrology in other parts of the world.

• Russian Association of Pediatric Nephrologists is interested in developing national guidelines and registries of chronic kidney diseases in children and conducting of clinical trials in Pediatric Nephrology by collaborating with the IPNA and ESPN.

• The IPNA/ESPN Teaching Course “Pediatric Nephrology: evidence-based statements and open questions” helds in Moscow firstly
