How to:

faker crochet covered soapkootoyoo … click & stitch

Supplies: coaster sized doilies if you have them otherwise a vintage crochet table cloth, hat elastic, round soaps, scissors & a tapestry needle…oh & five minutes of your time.

If you are using a crochet coaster you can skip this step & have a cup of tea.If you are repurposing an old tablecloth … carefully cut around the motif.

Thread your tapestry needle with the hat elastic & weave around the circumference of your motif.

Snip off the hat elastic at an appropriate length for your motif … you need to be able to tie a over hand knot.

The knot should be tight enough to draw in firmly around the soap but not so tight as to make it difficult to get the soap into the cover.

Ease your soap into the little “cap” you’ve made for it. Tuck the knot inside the cover to hide it.

If you’re a crochet queen you could hook up a lovely facecloth.

For those of us racing the clock then a store bought flannel will be just fine.
