Wifi Considerations: Open Wifi

Pros Cons• Best for convenience• Allows access when library is

closed

• Unencrypted connection allows for snooping or MITM attacks

Other Considerations• Cons can be mitigated by using end-to-end encryption• Places responsibility for security on patron rather than on the library

• Publicly posting password can reduce convenience and privacy concerns

• Most exploits are on vulnerabilities that have already been fixed

• Make sure your rollback software doesn’t roll back your updates
