Editing is done to make it easier for readers to
understand the work as well as for giving you writing a professional look.
Editing involves three different prospects:
Structural editing Linguistic and Styling Proof reading
Editing Your Thesis
Introduction Introduction must contain the thesis problem,
its importance and reasons.
Chapters Chapters and materials must be logically
ordered Distinct introductory and summarizing section
must be present within each section.
Conclusion Introduction and conclusions must be
connected. Introduction questions must be answered in
conclusion
Bibliography The bibliography must cover each and every reference made. References must be mentioned completely. References must be in accordance with the styles recommended
Lists Lists of figures, contents, acronyms and short
forms must be comprehensively included and explained.
Stick to the appropriate style by reading other theses in the same area.
Logical connections and grammatical checks must be ensured.
Gauge the proper convention and style as per the field.
Enroll in written English class, if English is not your first language
Layout Margins and indents must be consistent Titles and subtitles must be distinguishable Avoid large whitespaces Ensure that there are no widows and orphans Text Match opening brackets with closing brackets Abbreviations must be spelled out full when used
for the first time Accurate and consistent styles throughout Punctuations must be checked on a hard copy
