What does Instructional D

esign Mean?

“The term Instructional Design refers to the systematic and reflective process of translating principles of learning and instruction into plans for instructional materials, activities, information resources, and evaluation.”

activities, and assessment• Provides a systematic framework for dealing

with learning problems- Smith and Ragan (2005)

• Consult, train and serve as a resource person to faculty, administrators, course developers and appropriate departments in the design, development, evaluation and revision of distance learning courses.• Facilitate in the identification and implementation of instructional innovations related to distance learning.
