-How is it transmitted?

Sleeping sickness is caused by two protozoa:

Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense

Trypanosomoa brucei gambiense.

Which is the vector?Tse Tse fly carry the infection.

When an infected Tse Tse flybites you, the infection spreadsthrough your blood.

And then your brain swells.

-Symptoms

The symptoms are:

-Weakness

-Sleepiness (may be uncontrolable)

-Insomnia at night

-Fever

-TreatmentThere are some medicines to treat this sickness.Pentamidine injections protect against Trypanosoma brucei gambiense.

But not against Trypanosomoa brucei rhodesiense, because this medicine is toxic, using it for prevention is not recommended.
