Beaker

A beaker is a simple container for stirring, mixing and heating

liquids. Beakers are in the shape of cylinders with flat bottoms. Most also have a small spout

(or "beak") to aid pouring as shown in the

picture.

Petri Dish

A Petri dish (or Petri plate or cell culture dish) is a shallow glass lidded dish

that biologists use to culture cells or

small moss plants. It was named after

German bacteriologist Julius Richard Petri, who invented it when working as an

assistant.

    Florence flask A Florence flask (also

known as a boiling flask) is used as a container to hold liquids. A Florence flask has

a round bottom with a single long neck. Its

designed for heating and ease of swirling. They are often made of borosilicate glass to prevent cracks.

PipetteA pipette (also called a pipet,

pipettor or chemical dropper) is a laboratory tool used to transport a

measured volume of liquid

Bunsen burnerA Bunsen burner, named after Robert Bunsen, is a common piece of laboratory equipment that produces a single open gas flame, which is used for heating.
