Caste • The root of caste is the Latin castus, which means

"chaste" or "pure, separated." The word arrived in English through the Portuguese casta, which means "race" or "lineage."

(Kashmiri surname) is a common surname used in Kashmir Valley. In Pakistani Punjab, the local Punjabis use "Butt" as a collective term.

Caste discrimination in Pakistan

• A 20-year-old woman from Peshawar was murdered by her brothers and father for attempting to marry a man outside her biradari and for bringing shame to the family.

Due to this caste system • The inequality is severe• People judge each other on the basis of caste • People are losing the value of “one nation” & one identification

• We should not focus on caste. There’s nothing in caste system. We should live united so that we spend a good life.

• These ugly incidents have one thing in common i.e caste discrimination ( in every situation caste still matter

• Quaid-e-Azam had told in his address that

“ There should be no distinctionand discrimination on the basisof caste and creed.”• He said that we are equal citizens of one state.
