Standards for conducting policy evaluation

There are four main standards for conducting policy evaluation.

Utility Feasibility Propriety accuracy

Types of evaluationThere are two main types of evaluationFormative evaluation.Summative evaluation.

Formative EvaluationIt is generally any evaluation that takes place

before or during a project's implementation with the aim of improving the project's design and performance.

Summative EvaluationSummative evaluation refers to the

assessment of participants where the focus is on the outcome of a program. This contrasts with formative assessment, which summarizes the participants development at a particular time.

Steps in policy evaluation process Define purpose and scope. Specify evaluation design. Create a data collection plan. Collect data. Analyze data. Drawing conclusion. Feedback to improvement.

Define purpose and scopeWhy are u doing the evaluation it defines

the purpose of it.It also provides information about

program improvement and evaluation.

Specify evaluation designHere the evaluation design is focused that which type of

design we will use such as: Status. Comparison. Change. Longitudinal.

Create a data collection planHere it is decided that hoe we will collect data

we can use the following techniques to collect data:

Survey.Focus group.Observation.Published instruments.

Collect dataHere we will see that how much data do we need.100% population is ideal but it is too much

expensive and time consuming to collect data from whole population.

We can use the following sampling techniques to collect data:

Random samplingStratified samplingConvenience sampling

Analyze dataData collected during policy evaluation is compiled and

analyzed.Area FrequencyNumber of students getting 5 malesNon-traditional education 6 females

Drawing conclusionsResults are examined carefully and

objectivelyConclusion is drawn based on our data. Results should signify the program

Feedback to program improvementEvaluation findings are used to make

improvements.Consider adjustmentsRevise program strategiesChange methodologiesIncrease time with program

ConclusionEvaluation helps to:Determine the effect of program on

recipients.Know if u have reach your objectives.Improve your program.
