In the life of a sixth grader
This is the main entrance to the school
where Mr. Cowart usually greets us in the
morning.
After we arrive at our classroom
we unpack our backpacks. We take
out everything like
homework, books,ect. Then we get
ourselves organized and get working
on morning work.
After we’re settled we start
learning ,or correct morning work.
Lessons and our daily work
continues up until our itinerant and
then resumes afterward. At lunch
time once again we stop and
resume again.
Itinerants are the times when we go
to extra things like music
, gym, library, art or health. In this
picture we see the art room. In
music we sing songs and farther
extend musical education. In gym
we play sports and get ourselves
physically fit and we have it twice a
week. In library we may learn
research skills or check out books.
In art we learn different styles of
art .
At lunch we all sit down with our class and eat our lunch. We can socialize with our friends . We come in to the cafeteria and take our seats. Then we get in line for lunch if we need to buy it. Once you have your lunch you pay for it and go back to your seat.
Recess is our 15 minutes to socialize
with our friends from any class in
our grade. Unfortunately if it rains
or is to cold we need to stay inside.
At the end of the day we get our
homework and pack up. If we’re a
monitor we go downstairs and if you are
a bus buddy, walker
monitor, caller, recycler or runner.
Bus buddies help kindergartners get on
the bus. Walker monitors, watch the
walkers and keep kids in order. Callers
call buses down to the foyer or cafeteria
to get on the bus or to wait for the bus.
Runners tell the callers when a bus has
arrived. Recyclers pick up the recyclables
from the class rooms.
At the end of the day, we leave through
the same doors we came in ,and board
our busses.
