As the Volunteer Coordinator, I recruit adults and teens to:

*Serve in the Teen Advisory Group *Shelf DVDs

*Prepare materials for and assist at library programs

*Serve as Book Buddies *Clean books and computers

*Assist with library outreach programs in the community

*Perform clerical duties and make telephone calls

*Register Summer Reading Program participants

*I also supervise teens needing to complete community service hours for high school and religious requirements.

My goals are:

•to become a member of a library’s Young Adult team

•to gain familiarity with Young Adult literature and technology

•to establish professional relationships with others in that field

•to win the trust of the library’s teen patrons

•to pass my ideas for development of the YA department on to my coworkers and receive the same from them

I am creative and would bring new ideas to the library. I am inspired by reading books, library websites and blogs.

I am a good listener. This helps me to learn, as well as gain the trust and respect of my coworkers and library patrons.

I am hard working, dependable and eager to take on new responsibilities. A self-starter, I am focused and detail-oriented.
