Oyster River Teachers’ Guild Contract and Family Medical Leave
There are provisions in our contract that supersede the Family Medical Leave act
Sick Leave• According to the contract:o Each professional will be entitled to
fifteen (15) days of sick leave each year for personal illness. Unused sick leave days may accrue from year to year up to a maximum accumulation of one hundred sixty (160).
• During this time the district will continue to pay its share of the professional’s health insurance premiums.
• Family Medical Leave will run concurrently with sick leave
Health InsuranceThe Guild contract states:
A professional disabled from performing his/her duties shall be granted an un-paid medical leave of absence following the exhaustion of all sick leave available to the professional. Such leave shall be subject to the following conditions
The District will continue to pay its share of the professional’s health insurance premiums for a period of three (3) months following the commencement of the unpaid medical leave.
A Sick Family Member• According to our contract:
Each professional will be entitled Up to fifteen (15) days of sick leave may be taken annually for illness of a professional’s child, spouse, parent or any member of their household.
• Medical Family Leave will run concurrently with this leave.
• If a professional needs to take additional leave to care for his/her family member, the leave will be unpaid.
• Family medical leave will continued to be used during this period
• While on Family Medical Leave, the district will continue to pay its share of the professional’s health insurance premiums
