• How much time do children want to spend alone.
• How much time do they want to spend in pairs.
• How much time do they want to spend in groups.
How much time do you like to spend in each
grouping? %
Watch for changes.
• Things will change over time as they become more social.
• But, make sure social preferences are varied.

• Informal groupings can be achieved easily by having students walk ten steps and find a partner.
• They can then pair.share or interview each other or review prior learning.
• Now walk ten steps, find a partner and tell each other one thing you have just learned.

• Students can choose but try to make it a variety of social and individual events.

• They achieve better learning when compared with students competing against each other or individually.
• Teams work for focused, goal oriented work on a specific project.
Teach social skills
• Community circles ensure fewer disruptions, more camaraderie, better feelings about learning and sharing.
Why should we be concerned?
• What kind of social skills will children have if just home schooled or use online classes?
• What kind of world will we live in if children are not able to function in a social world?
