Eneida dr. james naismith

• His name is Dr. James Naismith.

• Dr. James Naismith invented a new sport called basketball in 1950.

• He was born in Ontario, Canada, in November 6th, 1861.

• His dad was John Naismith and his mam wasMargaret, two Scottish immigrants. He hadtwo wives and five children.

In December 1891, Naismith was trying doinghis gym class active on a rainy day and he invented basic rules of the basketball, to keephis students occupied.

• He studied at Mc Gill University in Montreal.

• On 1894 he married with Maude Evelyn Sherman in Springfield. They had five children. Maude died in 1937 and in 1939 he marriedagain with Florence B. Kincaid.

• He suffered a major brain haemorrhage onNovember 19th and he died nine days later.

• He died on November 28th at Lawrence, Kansas.
