DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

From statistics, we can see that women mostly use the internet for socializing and shopping, while men mostly use the Internet for banking, administration, news and learning or looking up information on various topics. Do you believe that women make the most out of the Internet in order to become more independent in terms of knowledge and business? To what point are social networks used for personal development and at what point is social networking seen as reckless and a waste of time?

Does the amount of friends in a Facebook list or the amount of followers on Twitter or Instagram affect the way we define “friends”? Are social networks fundamental for us to be able to maintain friendships? And to what point do we use the social media to maintain a social status as opposed to actually attempting to maintain our friendships?

Do you believe that in the future, the Internet may be reliable enough to provide us with health information, thus eliminating the necessity to go to the doctor for diagnosis?
