are those systems or sciences upon which education stands and has its roots, origin or bases. They are the factors that affects education particularly in curriculum content.

Anthropology  is the study of humankind, past and present, that draws and builds upon knowledge from the social sciences  and biological sciences, as well as the humanities and the natural sciences.

The study of humankind, in particular. (also cultural or social anthropology) The comparative study of human societies and cultures and their development. (also physical anthropology) The science of human zoology, evolution, and ecology.

derived from the Greek words anthropus meaning “man”, “human” and logus, meaning study

the study of humankind, everywhere, throughout time, seeks to produce useful generalization about people and their behavior and to arrive at the fullest possible understanding of human diversity

The discipline of Anthropology is based on knowledge that culture impacts every aspect of human existence. Anthropologists investigate this through a holistic perspective. They believe that the understanding of past and present societies, from their social structure, religion and language, sex and symbolisms contributes to the big picture.

1. Physical or Biological Anthropology – deals with the evolution of humans, their variability and adaptations to environmental stresses.

2. Linguistics – study of the relations between language and culture and also studies humans through the languages that they use.

3. Ethnology – studies cultures from the historical point of view. Compares and analyzes the characteristics of different peoples and the relationship between them.

4. Archeology – study of past societies and cultures through their materials remains.

reduces ethnocentrism by instilling appreciation of other cultures

contributes to our understanding of human beings

helps to avoid misunderstandings between peoples

Anthropology is an important part of education for many reasons: it allows people

to study how humans and other organisms react to certain environments. It gives us insight in how things work, live, and coexist. Through anthropology, we can determine how things were made, live and react to different scenarios and how different texts and our perception of ideas change us. It also help us to study the changes that happen upon the nature or from ourselves or from other organisms. Along with this it shows us a great deal how much more advanced we are to become.
