Learning outcome :

By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to compare volume of liquids.

Prior knowledge:

pupils have learnt how to compare objects – more or less, many or few during their previous lesson.

Teaching aids :

* two different shape of containers of water

Vocabulary :

emptyhalf fullfull

Procedure:

a teacher divide class into groups of four. b appoint one pupil to be recorder in group.

c teacher shows three same container of water, asks pupils which container has more volume.

d teacher let the pupils compare the containers of water

e teacher introduce the vocabulary: empty, half full and full

f have the pupils to arrange the containers in the order from empty to full.

g repeat with second sets of containers

g teacher show two different containers of water. Let the pupils guess which containers has more water.

h let the pupils pour out the water into an empty container. Mark the volume of water with marker pen.

i repeat with the second container and mark the volume.

Conclusion :

pupils will learn the second container has more volume of water.
