What is InspireData™?

Developed by TERC and Inspiration Software®, Inc. Originally funded by a grant from the NSFDeveloped to engage students in the data analysis process, primarily in Math, Science, and Social StudiesHelp students build data literacy, develop analytical skills, and strengthen critical thinking

MECA 2008 conference, Jackson, Mississippi, January 30, 2008

As students organize and analyze data they ask meaningful questions and dig deeper to solve problems. They move beyond simply memorizing facts and start acquiring the skills of reasoning, inquiry and communication. This process builds data literacy and makes learning a richer, more meaningful experience.

Why InspireData?

Build critical data literacy skills and engage students.Integrate Tables and Plots, where students go easily from data collection to data interpretation in a few clicks. Easy to make graphs (visually and intuitively).Make sense for students. It is easy for students to get their data organized and explore data in different plot types: Venn plots, Bar charts, Stack plots, Box plots, Axis plots and Pie plots which help students identify trends, patterns and relationships. Visually explore data to solve problems and draw conclusions, resulting in stronger content knowledge and stronger critical thinking skills.Fun and engaging.
