YokotenYokoten is the transfer of something worthwhile for one process or area to another. What follows is a simple high level model to help us do this.

SelectPrepareRecreateObserveUpdateTrain

The Model

SelectChoose what it is that we want to spread from one process or

department to another.

PrepareMake a plan of how the

attributes will be transferred to the new area and make

preparations. Involve those who will be affected.

RecreateExecute the plan and put the changes in place in the new area and begin use. Involve those who will be affected.

ObserveWatch carefully the recreated process to ensure it is working correctly. Note adjustments

that should be made.

UpdateMake any corrections found

while observing and rerun the updated process.

TrainInstruct and practice and engrain

the new with those who are affected (but were not involved in the transfer) by the changes

made. Ensure alignment.
