What is Composition?Creating music of

your own.

This can include:• Writing music on computer

using Finale• Writing music on music paper• Organizing sounds

(arrange/remix)• Recording sounds• Or just for fun, improvising on

the spot!

Using Finale.

• Finale is a music software program for writing music. By composing with it you will develop your ICT skills.

• You can type the music in or play music in through the keyboard and it will be notated on the screen.

What do you do for performance?

• Choose one instrument that you will practice regularly at home & use often in class…this could be your voice!

• Play keyboard and guitar pieces as a class.• Play pieces as a class ensemble.• Play percussion instruments.• Learn to use microphones & a PA system. • Showcase songs you have been working on in

your own time.
