From the Pastor’s Pen…
Everything
“ . . . everything . . .” (Genesis 24:1; I Thessalonians 5:18 CSB)
Can you believe it? It’s December! 2019 is ending and I am reminded of one word, EVERYTHING!
Like Abraham in Genesis 24:1, God has blessed us in EVERYTHING. When I examine all aspects of life (the physical, the spiritual, the emotional, the financial, the social, etc.), God has blessed us in every way. Even with the difficulties of life and the disappointments that have come in this year, we have still been blessed in EVERYTHING. The scripture does not say that we have everything, but that God has blessed us in everything. God has been faithful to BMBC in ways too numerous to count.
Since God has blessed us in EVERTHING, it is only right that we give thanks in EVERYTHING to the Lord (I Thessalonians 5:18). Thanksgiving must never just be a day or a season, it must become our lifestyle, our everyday attitude.
So, during this Christmas celebration as we remember the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and anticipate the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, if you don’t get anything from anyone else, be grateful in EVERYTHING that you have received from God!
Gratitude is the proper attitude for EVERYTHING God has done for us!
We Must Abide in Love! John 13:35 (NASB) LoveWelcome
