A Father’s Day Blessing
Loving God, we give you thanks for the many gifts you have given us; the gift of life,
the gift of those who love us and especially, today, we thank you for the gift of our fathers.
We ask your blessing upon our fathers who gave us rules to live by, standards to uphold,
joys to cherish, faith to live by, hopes worth dreaming of and who blessed our lives
with their unselfish and unconditional love.
We ask your blessing upon adoptive fathers, that they
may always know their special role of being a true father,
a revelation of God’s love for their children.
We ask your blessing upon fathers who have lost children through
miscarriage, stillbirth, crib death, sickness, accident and tragedy,
that they may have your continuing strength and courage.
We ask your blessing upon those who want to be fathers
or have another child, that they may practice patience and feel your love as they wait and hope.
We remember our fathers who have died and for the unique way they revealed for us your love.
We ask that you keep them in your care until the time comes for us to join them in your Kingdom.
And we ask your blessing upon the fathers standing here before us. Protect and guide them.
Keep them in your care and grant that their children may always honor them with a spirit of
profound respect. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord. AMEN.

On the first 2 pages of our bulletin, you’ll find our Highlight of the Week and information about Worship and Sacraments at St. Vincent de Paul.
The Highlight is a featured space to give more details about a particular ministry or event.
In the Worship & Sacraments section, we’ll introduce the readings for the upcoming week
and include articles about the various Sacraments celebrated here at St. Vincent de Paul. The Seven
Sacraments are the outward signs instituted by Christ to give grace to us, and therefore are vital to the life of our parish. These pages also include a calendar of parish events for the upcoming week.

WELCOME FR. PAUL BAKER AS OUR
NEW PAROCHIAL VICAR Along with nine of his classmates, Fr. Paul Baker was ordained a priest on May 27. He is excited to join us as our new Paro-chial Vicar and he began his ministry here at St. Vincent’s this past Wednesday. We are
looking forward to getting to know him and I’ve informed him several times that this is a wonderful parish community to be a part of.
There is much more to learn about Fr. Baker in the weeks and months ahead. For us, it is a privilege be a part of his initial priestly formation. We wish him all the best and let's keep Fr. Barsness and Fr. Baker in our prayers through their upcoming transitions and in their new assignments.
God bless,
Fr. Paul Treacy

St. Vincent de Paul
Hits the Road
THIS WEEK!
This program highlights the Eucharistic message of going into and beyond our immediate communities to become
the “Jesus” we receive daily and weekly at Mass. This im-mersion experiences will help us to:
appreciate the spiritual impact of immersion experiences beyond our comfort zones
develop critical skills for social analysis in relation to our faith and society
be challenged and form our hearts to long for justice
encourage us to be always conscious of the poor in and beyond our communities
see the world and our church with new eyes
know our fellow parishioners in both small group and one-on-one settings
think about ways and means of applying the know-ledge and inspiration acquired during these visitations
Please, consider joining us for some or all of these local immersion trips, which are meant to affirm our presence not just as a church IN the community, but a church FOR and WITH the community in the spirit of our patron saint,
St. Vincent de Paul.

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN
On Tuesday morning May 23, 2017 FMSC recognized SVDP for our continued dedication to packing food for God's hungry children. As an honor we were given "green" hair nets to wear and FMSC took a group picture of our Tuesday morning volunteers.
According to FMSC records, SVDP has packed 555,984 meals during 2016 and 2017 feeding 1,523 kids for a year. Amazing when you think that our volunteers do this one cup of rice at a time.
We would love to have you join us - the 3rd Friday of every month from 6 to 7:30 PM and the 4th Tuesday of every month from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Duane Crosland - dcrosl@aol.com or 763-441-8683.
