Maintenance Work Order improvement project started in 2014 to look at potential solutions• Project did a very comprehensive review of all maintenance business

processes and created a number of business process improvement ideas

• SAP WM/GEOe solution was recommended as the technical solution for work order simplification

Benefits of Work Manager/GEOe• Linear Asset Management creates a structure view of CDOT roadway

assets using functional locations and equipment records• WM & GEO.e has an interface between SAP and CDOT GIS/ESRI data• GEOe provides a map view for easy selection of roadway assets

needing maintenance• Work Orders and Notifications are generated from a mobile device with

both online and offline capability• Work Order and Notification screens are designed to simplify creation

with data either prepopulated or simple dropdown selections for most fields; little data entry is needed.

Collaboration and Cooperation: • Project implemented in conjunction with Maintenance, DTD – GIS, Engineering,

TSM&O, and Staff Bridge.• Developing a preventive maintenance program to ensure routine maintenance

and inspections are completed on all assets as outlined by the manufacturer.• DHM Asset Manager currently working with guardrail, signs, striping, pavement

markings, luminaires and signals Asset Managers to develop a comprehensive asset inventory plan to include data dictionaries and marking guides.
