Who is God in Your Life and Leadership?

CU LEAD 101

Steve Clark

First, a little about me…

Do you want to make a difference in the world?

Why?

God shouldn’t be a part of your leadership.God should be the center of your leadership.

Why do you lead?

Something motivates you. What is it?

God is the motivation for Christian leadership

• Westminster Shorter Catechism: “The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.”

• Galatians 2:14-21.• When God is the center of your leadership, you don’t need to prove or fulfill

yourself.

• Other motivations aren’t wrong, but they have to remain in perspective.

Three Biblical Leaders

• Moses

• David

• Jesus

God is the goal of Christian leadership

• God’s standard for success is not at all the world’s standard of success.

• Solomon, the wisest man ever, said to “Fear God and keep his commandments; this is the whole duty of man” (Ecc. 12:13)

• Jesus said the greatest commandment was to love God with our whole hearts, souls, and minds.

• When God is the center of your leadership, you can realize your flaws – and be okay with being flawed.

Consider

• Surround yourself with a strong circle of friends.

• Establish a regular time with God. Feed your soul.

• Pursue mentorship.

• Practice rest.

• Journal.
