Classroom Behavior Plan

Students earn star bucks for meeting the schoolwide expectations and following classroom rules. Each month the school will have a reward activity for students who have earned a designated amount of star bucks. In addition, students earn stickers in the classroom and may choose from a treasure box each Friday if they earn enough stickers for being on time, in uniform, having agenda signed, work is complete, and behavior is appropriate.

Attendance• Absences- Note required upon returning

stating the reason for absence.• Students must be in school for most of the day

in order to receive credit for being present.• Have students to school on time. • Students arriving after 8:00 are required to

check-in at the office by an adult.• Please try not to check your child out early.

They will miss valuable instruction time.

Arrival• Students may be dropped off no

earlier than 7:30.• Breakfast is served at 7:30• Students may enter the classroom

at 7:45.• Students are tardy after 8:00

DismissalEvery one will be dismissed at 2:30.• Parents, please pick your child up at his/her

designated area. Do not come into the classrooms or hallways.

• If you pick your child up early or visit the school, go to the front office for sign in or check out.

• For the safety of your child, adults are no longer allowed on campus without a visitor’s pass.

Reading Block• Uninterrupted 90 minutes…please

do not check your child out during this time.

• 8:10 – 9:40

Math Block• Uninterrupted 60 minutes…please

do not check your child out during this time.

• 10:30 – 11:30

Homework• Your child will have HW periodically.• HW will consist of a language arts or

a math activity.• Please sign agenda every day after

you have checked over your child’s HW and/or other information.

Media CenterOur class will usually go to the media center to check out books and possibly learn a media related skill on Fridays. Please be sure books are returned to school each Friday.

Online Resources• Renzulli Learning- Your child can access

this from home.• Destiny- Library program…it’s used to

help your child find books in the library.• Success.net• FCAT Explorer- more info to come later

in the year.As soon as your child gets his/her

password for these programs, you can begin accessing them from home.

FCAT• Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test• Focuses on Reading, Math, and Science

(5th grade only).• If FCAT Reading is not passed in 3rd

grade, the student will be retained. • Later in the year, there will be a Parent

Night at school dedicated to help parents better understand FCAT.
