In surveying the typical Xcelsius users, 2 types were identified.

• Business Analysts – quickly visualize excel data.• Industrial dashboard builders – deliver complex visualisations to large

audiences.

According to SAP neither user group was served particularly well with Xcelsius.As Xcelsius grew to accommodate the needs of the industrial dashboard builders it became overly complex for the business analysts and lost some of its appeal. On the other hand, the industrial dashboard users were frustrated as the need to visualise large data sets grew.
