We are so glad that you are with us today! Our service

will be to praise and worship God and to encourage and uplift us to face another week. We will sing (Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16), pray (James 5:15-18), and partake of the Lord’s Supper to remember our Savior’s sacrifice on the cross (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 11:23-26). We will also give back a portion of the monetary blessings that God has granted us so that we can carry out His work in our community (1 Cor. 16:2, 2 Cor. 9:7). We will also study a lesson from His Word that will hopefully be applicable to our daily lives, so that we can be equipped to handle the

pressures of this world and

All In

I am thankful that we have another Lord's Day to gather together. It has been a great week! Classes began last Wednesday night and were well attended for our first one back! Today, we begin our morning classes, and I hope that everyone joins us, whether in person or online.

Tonight, I will be preaching as Jeremy is heading out of town to Florida. Following evening worship, my oldest two sons and I will be making our way to Little Mountain Ministry Camp near Winchester, Tennessee for the session that was postponed. I hope that you all will be able to be back this Wednesday night to hear Matt Wallin, who always does an exceptional job delivering the Word!

Fred W. Cropp, President of the American Bible Society, once received a letter asking, “What do you recommend for keeping the leather of Bibles from getting stiff, cracking, and peeling?”

His reply was, “There is one oil that is especially good for the treatment of leather on Bibles. It will ensure your Bible stays in good condition. It is not sold but may be found in the palm of the human hand.”

Have you been “oiling your Bible” lately? Reading just four chapters a day will complete the entire Bible in a year; one chapter a day will complete the New Testament in two hundred and sixty days; three chapters a day will finish the New Testament four times a year; nine chapters will complete it once a month. -House to House Heart to Heart

Welcome to the Ellijay church of Christ this morning as we gather on one of the busiest weekends of the year! On Friday, downtown Ellijay was filled with people celebrating the Independence Day holiday with their families, and many of us marked the occasion at Caleb and Kristin’s house yesterday evening. I am looking forward to our discussion this morning about spiritual freedom, more specifically how we have been “set free” by Christ! While I am not always big on thematic lessons, I think this topic is relevant and appropriate for us as we grow together!

Our summer series continued Wednesday as we met “in-person” for the first time in a while. I appreciate Josh Posey and his family being with us, and I am excited about the rest of our lineup as well. I spoke in Jasper Wednesday, although Terry and I were the only people present in the building. I will be recording a lesson for the Peachtree City church today, and I have previously recorded a lesson for the brethren over at Dalton. This has been a strange time, but I believe the rest of my summer travels will be normal, whatever that may be in the era of COVID.

Speaking of Wednesday nights, on July 15 we had originally planned to have VBS. The decision was made not to hold VBS due to a variety of virus-related issues, and that night is now open. The elders have decided that we will have a VBS-style singing and lesson that will be applicable to old and young alike. The evening will be enjoyable, and I heard a rumor that we may have some special guests coming to be with us. You do not want to miss it!

We have been blessed with another opportunity to be together and worship God today; let’s take advantage of it!
