We are so glad that you are with us today! Our service
will be to praise and worship God and to encourage and uplift us to face another week. We will sing (Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16), pray (James 5:15-18), and partake of the Lord’s Supper to remember our Savior’s sacrifice on the cross (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 11:23-26). We will also give back a portion of the monetary blessings that God has granted us so that we can carry out His work in our community (1 Cor. 16:2, 2 Cor. 9:7). We will also study a lesson from His Word that will hopefully be applicable to our daily lives, so that we can be equipped to handle the pressures of this world and reach those outside of
Christ (2 Tim. 2:15).

Welcome to the Ellijay Church of Christ on another beautiful Sunday and blessed opportunity to gather for worship! Today marks our third week back together physically and our first Sunday night service this evening at 6:00. To make tonight even more exciting, Caleb will be delivering his first “live” lesson to us since moving several weeks ago. The Sampsons have already been a blessing to our church, and we know that will continue as we grow together with them. We
will resume meeting on Wednesday nights starting July 1 as Josh Posey from Bowden, GA speaks to us as part of our Summer Series. I hope that we will continue to watch the online lessons on Wednesday until then. Mike and Harold have already done a great job, and Josh Clevenger and Jake Sutton are lined up for the next two weeks.
Our lesson this morning comes from John 18, where Jesus is asked about his role as King. He had been called the King of the Jews, but here he reminds Pilate that he is the head of a spiritual Kingdom. As Christians, we have pledged our allegiance and now belong to King Jesus. We will explore this more thoroughly and hopefully come to a better understanding of what it means to belong to Christ!
Thank you to everyone who shared the Bible verses on social media this week. Those verses reached beyond our individual spheres of influence and were shared by people who have no affiliation with the church here. They certainly made my news feeds brighter and glorified God instead of the division that usually occupies our news cycles. I am so proud to be your preacher and am thankful for the bright lights each of you are to our world!
Today we begin live evening worship in addition to the live Sunday morning worship already in progress. Caleb will be bringing the lesson tonight. Our Wednesday evening Summer Series will continue online through June. Lord willing, we will be back live beginning Wednesday, July 1st, with speaker Josh Posey.
ALL IN
First off, I want to say Thank You! Those seem like relatively inadequate words, but you all have been so kind and welcoming to us despite unique conditions. So many of you have come and worked on our house or on the property to make it an even better place for us to live! We have been blown away by the work days, and what a gem of a place to be able to call home now. Thank you!
Okay, so it’s been a busy week, and a few things have changed (please bear with us as none of us have ever been through a pandemic before). After gathering a lot of input, we have decided to move VBS to this fall and will have more details coming out with that soon. We know many are ready to be back to what used to be normal, but it is difficult to minimize the risk in certain situations.
As I am writing this at the end of the week, we are about to have our first summer youth event at our home. That is exciting! We look forward to having many more times like this together this summer in the absence of church camps and other large gatherings!
Speaking of exciting, if you have not been by the new fellowship area or looked at the pics on Facebook, you might want to do so! Big changes have occurred, and what a great addition to our great facilities to be utilized for the congregation in so many ways! Check it out!
