Wind power is nothing new to
Kendallville since it is the home to Flint
and Walling that was one of the largest
manufacturers of wind mills in the
United States in the 19th century. Thesegiants of the prairie played a very
important part in the development of the
country. Windmills were first used for
grain grinding in the American Colonies,
but more importantly, in the settlement
of the west and Great Plains as a means
of pumping water. Even the railro
were dependent on the windmill
expanded westward. Flint and W
still calls Kendallville home toda
maker of pumps, and the legacy innovation lives on through the M
America Windmill Museum. Ove
towering giants can be viewed re

Another grand Kendallville
