This month’s Newsletter will educate our customers about “FRLS “ ( Flame Retardant Low Smoke )
Cables are the source of carrying power and signal. Cable network can carry fire from one place to another in the event of fire caused due to external sources or due to short circuit.
Experience reveals that electrical cables are the prime source of propagation of fire. It is also experienced that damage to property and human life due to this phenomenon needs to be give due importance and the cable shall be selected considering fire and safety requirements of circuit integrity during fire conditions. It includes emergency power supply, alarm Power supply and other critical applications.
Cables used in enclosed areas such as power plants, buildings, housing complex, multiplexes, Underground railways, and road tunnels, hospital shall be using FRLS Wiring.
Now let we know what is what FRLS is: - Flame retardant Low Smoke. At this stage we would like our custom-ers to know what type of Wiring we are going to provide to the apartments.
Fire Retardant low smoke Wires & Cables have taken over other conventional wires & cables as fire is creating havoc everywhere in our lives. Awareness for safety against fire has increased with bitter experience where in individuals & the nation has suffered great losses.
FRLS CABLES
Meets standard requirement of
• IS -10810 Part 62 / IS-1554 • IS -10810 Part 61 / IS-1554 • IEC – 60332 Part 1 & 3 • SS-4241417 • IEEE – 383 • ASTM-D-2843 & D -2863 • IEC – 60754 -1
Flame retardant low smoke cables are designed specially for plants, buildings, housing complex, multiplexes, underground railways, and road tunnels, hospitals, cinemas, airports, where risk to human life is due to fire and smoke is high.
Human life gets endangered due to smoke and suffocation in the event of fire.
These are the important distinguishing properties. To ensure all this we have in fact have a Quality Control (QC) people at site to monitor all this. All these small things go in a big way to dream home a treasured one for years to come.

ADVANTAGES OF FRLS CABLES
• Does not allow fire propagation in single and multi layered or bunched cables. • Does emit limited smoke in case of fire. • Does emit limited toxic and halogen gases • Does have high temperature index. • Low emission of acid fumes, reducing corrosion • High temperature index that is greater than 250°C as against 120°C for general purpose PVC • Critical oxygen index much greater than general purpose PVC • Maximum conductor temperature for continues operations for HR PVC is 85°c • There is a consistent effort to maintain the quality of our products at R.K. Electrical Industries (India) & is fully geared to maintain its present position by updating the technology constantly and keeping abreast of the development worldwide.
Keeping in view all above factors, we have providing our customers the Consistant Quality - Better Safety. Every construction materials used in UT’S PROJECTS are as per BIS and as per the specification of the customer
