Phase I
Design and fabricate a structure that accomodates at least three people with a basic and minimal dwelling
unit.
Individual units must be adjacent to one another and share boundaries. Each unit will need A Parti-Wall
with adjoining structures where unique structural and programmatic interlocking situations begin to evolve.
Have a clear design strategy and a maximum of two moves, the original volume of 6 x 6 x 8 ft must be registered in the development process and the final
outcome.

ENTRANCE
Exploring different ways of creating a roof and entrance using various shifts and moves in the massing.

Finally, a space that would allow for a desired 6’6” clearance was achieved by raising a portion of the original mass upwards, which resulted in a roof that provided protection as well as headroom.
Also, an interesting entrance was created by pulling the middle of the mass backwards, which al-lowed for an entrance in the front and created a social balcony space in the back of the design.

Phase II
Consolidate your efforts and schemes into a collab-orative scheme. An added goal in this phase is to be able to disassemble and pack each unit as blocks and consider the transportation of units in fragments.
Develop and refine the proposed units. Develop strate-gies to break down and rejoin blocks using mechanical connections. Explore the relationship between blocks,
hierarchy of materials and their thickness

The structures will be completely fabricated on campus in the Parker Hall Shop, then transported to Griffis
Sculpture Park and reassembled on site.

Phase V
Transportation, Re-Assembly + Evaluation
Polyurethane was added to water seal all projects. Fork-lift rails were installed underneath each project and temporary bracing was added in order to provide structure for shipping. Finally, all projects were shrink wrapped to protect them during the transportation procedure.
On Sunday April 18th, all 14 projects were shipped to Griffis Sculpture Park in East Otto, New York.
