CenTRIB and MYTRIBOS

MYTRIBOS stands for MALAYSIAN TRIBOLOGY SOCIETY

MYTRIBOS was established in 2007 and had officially been registered with the

Malaysian Registrar of Societies a year after (figure below). The main

objective of MYTRIBOS is to promote proper practices in research and

development related to the field of tribology in Malaysia and to facilitate

collaborations between academia and industry in all possible endeavors.

PROJECT 1:

TITLE:

HYDRODYNAMIC FLUID BEHAVIOUR OF BIO-LUBRICANTS IN PlAIN BEARINGS

SYNOPSIS:

Investigation of hydrodynamic lubrication in journal bearing for bio lubrication

and comparison with other commercial types lubricants.

GRANTS: RM120K

(PhD and Masters, may convert from masters to PhD at the end of first year)

Salary/Wages: Masters (RM1500) and PhD (2000) monthly

PROJECT 2:

TITLE:

NEW FRAMEWORK MODEL OF INTEGRATED ISLAMIC QUALITY MANUFACTURING

SYSTEM

SYNOPSIS:

To extend previous work on integrated TQM-LM-EMS into Islamic Quality

Manufacturing

GRANTS: RM160K

(PhD and Masters, may convert from masters to PhD at the end of first year)

Salary/Wages: Masters (RM1500) and PhD (2000) monthly

PROJECT 3:

TITLE:

TRIBOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF DIFFERENT LUBRICANT ADDITIVES IN LEAD FREE BEARING MATERIALS

SYNOPSIS:

Potential of different lubricant additives are investigated and tested for different bearing materials including lead free.

GRANTS: RM100K
