AROUND THE ARCHDIOCESE
WEEKLY MASS AT ATLANTA VA MEDICAL CENTER All Catholics are invited to attend the weekly Monday Mass at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033. Mass begins at 11:30AM. Many of our Catholic veterans do not have family or visitors and look to the church for pastoral care. This weekly Mass is celebrated for the wellbeing and spiritual support of veterans from all branches. By attending Mass and through prayer, we show our appreciation for the dedicated service of our veterans, lifting their spirits in prayerful solidarity. For more information, please contact Fr. John Kieran at jckieran@gmail.com.

ONE MAN PLAY “THURGOOD” with Lourdes parishioner Geoffery Williams, playing at Blazer Theatre, 84 Luckie St. NW. Atlanta, GA, 30303. Based on the life and career of the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, this riveting narra-tive charts Thurgood Marshall’s evolution from back-alley Baltimore, to Howard University law school, to his fight for equality in the South, all the way to a seat on the highest court in the land in 1967. In addition to his victorious challenge of segregation in Brown vs. Board of Education, humorous and inspiring milestones of Marshall’s journey reveal the re-markable brilliance, perseverance and hope of one of the greatest American heroes of all time.

Thoughts on Stewardship
Three underlying principles to consider in the stewardship of treasure: First, everything in our life belongs to God, not us. Second, God has a plan and mission for our lives; to bring the good news of the love and mercy found in Jesus Christ to the world.
