• Major safety issue with trail users crossing Empire BLVD

• These are the only 2 shared-use Parks currently in Monroe County and connectivity between is important to the trail community

Trail Design

• The trail design uses the steep terrain to keep the trail below site line for houses along the County Property

• The trail exit is on County Property and exits onto Irondequoit Blvd

• In order create a sustainable trail to reach Irondequoit Blvd the trail has been designed to gradually gain elevation

• In order create a sustainable trail to reach Irondequoit Blvd the trail has been designed to gradually gain elevation

• The upper section is a very steep slope and lower section of the park are wetlands and are to low to climb out

Summary

• Provide needed access between two county parks for all trail users

• Mitigates very large safety concerns

• Access into Tryon Park for EMS and other public services

• 100% on county property

• Trail design uses the steep terrain to hide trail users from houses along park property

• GROC wants to work with neighbors and to have this trail be a positive addition to the neighborhood
